The arts are not a frill.

The arts are a response to our individuality and our nature and help to shape our identity

WESSEX AREA - ARTS VOLUNTEERING

We are extremely proud of the many Arts Volunteering projects across Area.

Our Area Arts Volunteering projects provide exciting opportunities for people to expand their horizons through their involvement in creative arts activities.

We aim to inspire people with a lasting enthusiasm for the arts and an awareness of our arts heritage and its conservation. Our vision is equality of opportunity for all to learn through participation in the arts.

Some current projects:

'Listen In' at Roche Court -  Building confidence and raising aspirations through looking, thinking and speaking about art.

INVENT IT - an opportunity for Bath children to learn about the amazing things that have been invented in Bath over the years. For more information, click here.

White Horse Sculpture Project Outreach programme - a wonderful sculpture competition to create a small clay maquette of a horse, with one from a local Primary School, for casting in bronze resin and donating back to the School of the winning student.

Salisbury Cathedral Outreach Programme -  "To Be Free", a major Modern Art exhibition exploring the theme of liberty, opens at Salisbury Cathedral in May 2023 with funding from Wessex Area
